Individual Therapy

Therapy helps individuals sift through life events and edit those parts of their stories which became their limiting beliefs. This can enable them to become self-aware, explore their emotions and develop an empowered mindset.

Over my decade and a half of experience I have worked successfully with teenagers, young adults and adults experiencing:

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder

  • Panic

  • Depression

  • Gender Dysphoria

  • Eating Disorders

  • Sleep Disorders

  • Body Image Issues

  • Social Anxiety

  • Poor Self Esteem

  • Self-Harm

  • Anger Management Issues

  • OCD

Couples Therapy

Counselling for couples provides a safe, respectful and non-confrontational space for partners to express their concerns, be heard, realise different perspectives and bring down walls to build a healthier, mutually fulfilling relationship… TOGETHER.

I have counselled couples in distress, helping them to:

  • Build effective communication
    styles

  • Learn calmer conflict resolution

  • Understand and accept differences

  • Grow emotional connections

  • Recover from betrayal trauma

  • Rebuild trust

  • Manage transitions

  • Build common goals and values

  • Overcome parenting challenges

Grief Counselling

Loss can take different forms.

Grief can be messy.

It seldom progresses according to a pattern.

We don’t ‘move on’… we learn to grow around the sorrow.

Grief can be so raw that its often painful to watch a loved one go through it. Counselling offers that supportive space where painful emotions and memories can be expressed and shared. Therapy can help individuals process their grief and manage the emotions through various coping strategies. There is a gradual progression towards healing and rebuilding their lives through this process.

Counselling for Children

Parents and caregivers are often at a loss to help young children who may be acting out, presenting behavioral difficulties, aggression or obstinacy. Children are unable to express their feelings because they may not know how or may even be afraid.

In therapy, children feel safe enough to find their voice or a way of expressing the distress they may be experiencing. Tailored interventions like art therapy or play therapy allow them to share their emotions without feeling threatened or self-conscious.

I have worked extensively with young children and their parents helping them to learn to cope with and heal from:

  • Anxiety

  • Trauma from divorce

  • Trauma from losing a loved one

  • Fears from seeing discord within the home

I work concurrently with the parents in order to help support their children. Parenting sessions can also include learning to manage concerning issues like:

  • Aggression at home/school

  • Obstinacy

  • Sibling rivalry

  • Digital addiction

  • Worries about losing family

  • Unsettling changes and transitions

  • Bullying

Counselling for Young Adults

Adolescence and early adulthood can be marked by significant changes, which make it a time of confusion and stress. They often feel misunderstood and pressured. Therapy provides a safe and confidential space for them to express their thoughts and feelings, seek guidance, and develop valuable coping skills.

Over the years I have helped teenagers and young adults to understand and cope with:

  • Increased academic pressures.

  • Careers exploration

  • Navigating numerous transitions

  • Relationship perspectives/social skills

  • Family dynamics/expectations

  • Emotional regulation

  • Gender identity exploration

  • Body image issues
